I WILL NEVER RECOVER
it’s okay for women to be skinny and proud, western culture which has also started to dominate global culture demands and validates thinness over every other human attribute, so it’s to be expected, on the other hand, are women mocked and criticized for being “too thin” of course they are, do we hear the statement “real women have curves” all the time
so called “thin shaming” is wrong and harmful but it’s important to understand that “thin shaming” is a result of women’s bodies being policed all the time, no matter what we look like, no matter what size we are, but thin shaming is not evidence of a culture wide campaign to stigmatize thinness, skinny bodies are valued and privileged over fat bodies and you have to understand the root of “skinny shaming” IS NOT fat acceptance. skinny shaming comes from a place of jealousy while fat shaming comes from a place of disgust.
thin shaming and fat shaming aren’t separate issues, they are parts of the same issue, our culture’s need to pit women against one another, keep us shackled by pettiness and obsessing over our flaws rather than our power in order to ~get our money!~ but you’re not being oppressed because you are skinny if someone wants to write a song about loving their bigger body in a world where they’re told THEY CAN’T DO THAT then fucking let them, media is filled with skinny white representation everywhere you look, stop complaining.
So I did a thing…
I shouldn’t have done it.
if u dont believe in the supernatural, consider this: why do cameras and recording devices always stop working when they are in the presence of ghosts, demons, or harry and louis
